CBI special court has issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS officer Y Srilakshmi in CM YS Jagan’s disproportionate cases. The case was heard in the ED, CBI Special Court in Nampally on Thursday. The NBW was issued against her for not attending the investigation in Dalmia Cements case.
Retired IAS officer G. Venkatramireddy appeared in court and pleaded that he could not appear for the direct investigation due to personal reasons. Requested that the non-bailable warrant issued against him be revoked. Following this, the court quashed the warrant issued against him (NBW recall). However, former ministers Mopidevi Venkataramana and Brahmananda Reddy did not attend the hearing of the Vanpic case. The court clarified that if they do not attend the hearing, appropriate directions will have to be given against both of them. The court adjourned the case to September 30.
The CBI told the Nampally court that more time was needed for the counter-filing of the discharge petitions filed by Jagan and Vijayasai Reddy in the disproportionate cases.
IAS officer Srilakshmi was also spotted in the Telangana High Court. Srilakshmi, who is A6 in the Obulapuram Mining Company illegal mining case, filed a quash petition in the high court last year seeking to strike down the case registered against her by the CBI. Justice Shameem Akthar of Telangana High Court dismissed the petition filed by Srilakshmi.
