Just last month, the Telangana government introduced a budget worth Rs. 2.56 Lak Crores in the assembly, and in the very first month of this financial year, the government has fallen behind on paying salaries to its employees. In 14 districts, only district employees and teachers have gotten their salaries, while not a single person has gotten their salary in the other 19 districts.
It is being said that it would take at least four more days for employees to get their salaries and that their salaries would be credited only after the government loans money from the RBI. As a result of late salaries, the employees are complaining that their EMIs are getting delayed, due to which the respective banks are pressuring them, and that these banks are thus imposing huge penalties on them.
With the Telangana government not having paid the salaries of the employees on time, and it just being the beginning of the fiscal year, employees are worried about how the situation is going to be for the rest of the year. The government has been crediting salaries at a later time since last year and is citing a lack of money in the treasury. When the TRS government often boasts about its surplus revenue, it is truly shocking how come there arent enough funds with the government, to pay salaries on time.
