Wall posters have long been a cost-effective and straightforward method for promoting films to the public. For many years, they have played a crucial role in the movie marketing. Despite the rise of social media and technological advancements, theater owners continue to rely on wall posters to advertise their films. However, this trend is facing a significant shift in Hyderabad.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recently implemented an immediate ban on unauthorized posters, wall writings, cutouts, and flex banners across all public and private properties in the city. This decision was communicated through public notices, which also warned of substantial penalties for non-compliance.
In addition, the GHMC is engaging with theater owners and printing businesses to discuss these new regulations. The deputy commissioner has been tasked with leading these discussions. The notice tells the necessity of maintaining Hyderabad’s aesthetic integrity by ensuring that compound walls and public spaces remain clean and visually appealing.
