People who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 are said to have gone to their countries. The Gulf countries are preparing for the regulations.
Saudi Arabia has said it will only allow foreigners who have been vaccinated with two doses of the vaccine, and that those who have been vaccinated with Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna and Johnson will be allowed into the country only after submitting the relevant certifications to the airline. Efforts are being made to enforce similar regulations for those in other countries in the Gulf.
However, vaccine beneficiaries who have been fully vaccinated by both doses of Covaxin might not be allowed to travel internationally as the vaccine produced by Bharat Biotech has not been added to World Health Organization’s (WHO) Emergency Use Listing (EUL) yet.
Many Indians are leaning towards Covaxin. Many expatriates who went home on vacation took Covaxin based on their Aadhaar cards. However, airlines only recognize passports, not Aadhaar cards.
Authorities have deported several Indians who recently arrived in Saudi Arabia by road via Bahrain. Now, people who are vaccinated with Covaxin are worried that they will lose their jobs if they do not go in time.
