Quite a few small and medium-range films are gearing up for direct OTT release. The likes of Penguin, Krishna and his Leela, Bhanumathi & Ramakrishna, and 47 days have already been released on digital platforms.
However, the makers of Vaishnav Tej’s ‘Uppena’ are in no mood to give their film a direct OTT release.
Apparently, the film was made on a high budget as it has a super strong technical team. The production cost exceeded expectations and Mythri Movie Makers feel that they wouldn’t be getting a feasible offer from any OTT platforms.
Uppena features Vaishnav Tej and Kannada beauty Krithi Shetty. Given the fact that, both the lead actors are debutantes, OTT platforms will be hesitant to make a big offer to the producers.
Mythri Movie Makers are willing to wait till theaters are re-opened and they feel that the film has what it takes to pull the audience to cinema halls.
In other news, the makers of ‘V’, and Nishabdham are planning to go for a direct OTT release. They were initially against digital release, but the prolonged wait for re-opening of theaters seems to have changed the scenario.
