Ever since yesterday, a few tweets claiming to be posted by director MS Rajashekar Reddy are creating havoc on social media. The abusive tweets, which badly criticized Kamma and Kapu caste people, were said to be posted during the results days of 2019 AP General Assembly Elections.
As soon as the tweets went viral on the internet, the director had denied them and said they were fake.
Now, Mr Reddy lodged a police complaint against these fake tweets, which are said to be spreading hatred among castes and communities.
In his complaint, the filmmaker wrote, “While so, last night some mischievous elements have created some fake tweets attributing to me and abusing Kamma and Kaapu castes and other communities. They are making these tweets viral and now created a hashtag #ban macherla niyojakavargam Even worse, these elements have started a vitriolic campaign on Twitter spaces in the name of ‘Macharla Muchatlu’.
“In view of the gravity, I request your kind offices to initiate stern action against these miscreants and bring them to book,” he added.
‘Macherla Niyojakavargam’, starring Nithiin, Krithi Shetty, Catherine, is scheduled for 12th August’ 22 release.
