Finance is a very crucial department in the central ministry and any government gives this responsibility to the person who has abundant knowledge on the economy of the country or their topmost senior politician. When BJP came into power, one of their top leaders Arun Jaitley was offered the finance ministry.
After he died, the Modi Sircar made Nirmala Sitharaman, the former defense minister as the finance minister considering her educational qualification and impeccable record in defense. There are so many hopes on Nirmala but BJP started falling apart in economical issues when Nirmala took care of the finance. It is quite clear that she failed to leave a mark.
In a crucial phase of the Indian economy, the Covid-19 pandemic created enough tremors, and Nirmala was unable to handle the pressure of the lockdown consequences. Demands started to demote Sitharaman as the Finance Minister.
If the reports are to be believed, Modi, on the occasion of the completion of their one year rule since they came into the power for the second time, wanting to revise his ministry. Finance ministry is going to leave Nirmala and most probably V Kaamat who has vast experience as the chairman of Brazil, Russia, China, India, South African congregation (BRICS) bank will be the new Finance minister.
Modi has also decided to change most of the ministers and officials related to the economic sector but Nirmala Sitharaman might get another ministry in place of Finance.
