Nimmagadda Prasad has been issued a Non-Bailable Warrant by the CBI Special Court. He was earlier arrested in Serbia, while he was on his family vacation. He was found guilty for conducting irregularities in the Vodarevu-Nizampatnam port and Industrial Corridor (VANPIC) project.
The arrest made Prasad skip his appearance in the CBI Court, in connection with the case filed by the Enforcement Directorate regarding India Tech issue. However, Prasad’s Counsel informed the CBI Court about the arrest in Serbia, and sought for the exemption from appearing in the court. But the court issued a non-bailable warrant for skipping the hearing, upon which the lawyers failed to move any petition seeking exemption.
Prasad’s lawyers admitted the fact that they did not move the petition, as they were not aware of any information about him, after the arrest. This is now raising several doubts among the political circles, as the move facilitates Nimmagadda’s deportation to India, while he is currently in the custody of the Serbian police.
The YSRCP leaders severely tried for Prasad’s release and even reached out to the Central level leaders. But even the Centre lifted hands, as it would invite unnecessary troubles to the Indian government. While Prasad’s arrest had led to the major defame of the ruling party of Andhra Pradesh, it should be seen, whether the it can get back the lost glory, with his comeback.
