The Sankranthi season has turned special for actress Nidhhi Agerwal, as The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas, continues its strong run at the box office and wins appreciation from family audiences and children alike. The horror-fantasy entertainer, directed by Maruthi and produced by People Media Factory, has carved its own space with its unique concept, grand visuals, and Prabhas’ powerful screen presence. In a recent interview, Nidhhi opened up about the film’s journey, her role, and her experience working with the pan-India star.

Nidhhi said she feels extremely happy and relieved by the response The Raja Saab is receiving. She explained that the team worked on the film for nearly three years, and seeing audiences enjoy the result has been deeply satisfying. While the film saw slightly mixed reactions initially, she noted that positive word of mouth gradually took over, helping the movie hold strong at the box office with impressive numbers. According to her, the sustained audience interest proves that the content has connected well.

Talking about her role, Nidhhi shared that she played a character named Bessie, a nun, which required her to look divine and convincing on screen. She said she invested a lot of effort into understanding the character, especially when it came to costumes and her overall appearance. Multiple discussions were held to ensure the look felt authentic and suited the tone of the film.

She also spoke about how The Raja Saab came to her at an interesting phase in her career. After portraying a princess in Hari Hara Veera Mallu, this film gave her the chance to play an angel-like character. Nidhhi said she listened to the entire story, not just her portions, and was impressed from the narration itself. She felt director Maruthi’s idea of presenting a divine force battling an evil power rooted in tantric practices and psychological mind games was fresh and engaging.

Recalling her time on set, Nidhhi described the atmosphere as lively and joyful, especially while working alongside comedians like Saptagiri, Prabhas Sreenu, and VTV Ganesh. She mentioned that during one phase, she was simultaneously shooting for Hari Hara Veera Mallu and The Raja Saab, which meant constant travel and very little rest. During that demanding period, the support from the Raja Saab team meant a lot to her. She said the care and warmth she received made the tough schedule manageable, and acting, being her true passion, never felt like a burden.

Speaking about Prabhas, Nidhhi said working with him was an unforgettable experience. She described him as humble, friendly, and approachable, adding that he never behaves like a larger-than-life superstar on set. His kindness and simplicity left a strong impression on her, and she particularly admired his performance in the hospital scene. She also fondly recalled their casual conversations about cinema and life during breaks.

Nidhhi praised director Maruthi for his clarity and smooth working style. She said he always had a clear plan for each day’s shoot and managed scenes involving multiple artists with ease. According to her, he valued everyone’s time and maintained a relaxed, fun environment on set, which made the entire process comfortable.

She also acknowledged producer T.G. Vishwa Prasad’s commitment to scale and quality. Nidhhi said producing a film like The Raja Saab requires immense passion, and that dedication was evident in the film’s lavish sets, strong visual effects, and rich production values. She added that while acting in VFX-heavy scenes was initially challenging, as many elements had to be imagined, it gradually became an exciting learning experience.

On a lighter note, Nidhhi laughed about the common belief that strange incidents occur during horror film shoots. She clarified that nothing unusual happened during The Raja Saab shoot, though she admitted she is personally scared of horror content and prefers sleeping with the lights on while listening to the Hanuman Chalisa at night.

Expressing pride in Telugu cinema, Nidhhi said she proudly identifies herself with the Telugu film industry. She shared that during a recent visit to Mumbai, many people spoke about how Telugu films are being made on a grand scale with high technical quality. She added that she genuinely wishes every film released during the festive season succeeds, as the industry thrives when everyone does well.

Reflecting on her journey, Nidhhi said working with Pawan Kalyan in Hari Hara Veera Mallu taught her the meaning of courage, while working with Prabhas showed her how to remain humble despite massive success. Currently, she is busy with three Telugu films and two Hindi projects. Since most of her work is now in Telugu cinema, she has bought a house in Hyderabad and plans to settle there. Nidhhi concluded by saying that becoming a heroine was her childhood dream, and today she feels grateful to be living that dream, hoping to continue receiving meaningful and purposeful roles.
