The Covid-19 cases in India are rising with a record number on each passing day, although the Centre is vaccinating the citizens vastly. The country is battling a deadly second wave with daily fresh cases this week, passing the highest infections of the first wave seen last September.
Now, New Zealand has imposed a temporary travel ban on the people who are coming from India.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern on Thursday temporarily suspended entry for all travellers from India, including its own citizens, for about two weeks because of rising Covid-19 cases in the South Asian country.
The announcement came after New Zealand reported 23 new positive infections at its border on Thursday, of which seventeen were from India.
As per reports, the suspension will start on 11 April and ends on 28 April. Meanwhile, the government will look at risk management controls to continue travel.
