Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education and IT, Nara Lokesh, met Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil in New Delhi. Lokesh congratulated Patil for winning four consecutive Lok Sabha elections from Navsari with increasing majorities. He asked about the secret behind Patil’s repeated success and explained about the development and welfare programs taken up by the Andhra Pradesh government in the last 15 months.
CR Patil has been representing Navsari constituency since 2009. He first won with a majority of 1,32,643 votes. In 2014, he secured a majority of 5,58,116 votes, standing third in the country. In 2019, he achieved the highest majority in India with 6,88,668 votes. In 2024, he won again with a record 7,73,551 majority, the fourth highest in the country.
Speaking about his success, Patil said, “Being with people every day and staying connected with them is my true secret.” He explained how Navsari became the first “smokeless district” in India under his leadership. He also played a key role in Surat’s development, supporting textile and diamond industries, improving infrastructure, and upgrading Surat Airport with international facilities.
Patil further said that the Chikhli gram panchayat under Navsari was developed under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, becoming a model for the nation. During the second wave of COVID-19, BJP workers across the state set up Covid Care Centres and served people, he added.
