Andhra Pradesh IT, Electronics and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh held a key meeting in New Delhi with the full Board of Directors of global aerospace giant Airbus, led by Chairman René Obermann and the President & MD of Airbus India & South Asia.
This is the first time the Airbus board has visited India. The company is exploring opportunities under ‘Make in India’ and indigenisation plans.
During the meeting, Lokesh pitched Andhra Pradesh as the best destination for a major Airbus aerospace manufacturing facility. He highlighted the state’s ready-to-allot land, progressive aerospace policy, and strong ecosystem for suppliers and MSMEs to co-locate near the main plant.
The Minister explained that Andhra Pradesh is developing multiple aerospace corridors with strong logistics access, vendor clustering, and expansion options. He stressed that the government is committed to fast-track clearances, single-window approvals, and a business-friendly environment.
“Andhra Pradesh is fully prepared to partner with Airbus and build a world-class aerospace hub,” Lokesh said. “With ready land, a progressive policy, and skilled talent, we can support global programs from here.”
The state has offered:
Plug-and-play industrial land for Airbus and its suppliers
Special incentives through a forward-looking aerospace policy
Multiple corridor options connected to airports and ports
Quick approvals through single-window facilitation
Industry-ready talent and skill development programs
The meeting marks a significant step in Andhra Pradesh’s efforts to attract large-scale aerospace investments and strengthen India’s role in global aviation manufacturing.
