Puttaparthi turned into a centre of devotion and inspiration as Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh participated in the 44th Convocation of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning at the Poornachandra Auditorium in Prasanthi Nilayam. The ceremony gained special significance with the presence of Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan as Chief Guest and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu as Guest of Honour, creating a powerful spiritual and academic atmosphere.
Addressing the gathering, Lokesh said that Sri Sathya Sai University stands apart for its commitment to value-based education. He noted that anyone who visits Puttaparthi naturally feels the love, compassion, and spiritual strength radiated by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. He praised Baba’s nationwide humanitarian services—from drinking water projects to free medical care—that have benefitted lakhs of people, especially in remote regions.
Lokesh said that the presence of Vice President Radhakrishnan was a true honour, calling him a symbol of humility, honesty, and dedication to public service. He said the Vice President’s journey—from grassroots service to one of the highest constitutional positions in the country—will inspire every graduating student. He described Rayalaseema as a land known for courage, sacrifice, and deep spirituality, and expressed pride that this sacred land gave birth to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, whose vision continues to guide the world.
Calling the university a “modern gurukul,” Lokesh explained that it does more than create skilled graduates—it shapes compassionate leaders with strong values. He said India needs institutions like Sri Sathya Sai University to build responsible, service-minded citizens, especially as the country moves towards the goal of becoming a developed nation. He appreciated the university’s alignment with the National Education Policy 2020, highlighting its multidisciplinary education, disciplined campus environment, holistic personality development, and socially relevant research.
Lokesh told the students that they are stepping into the world with more than just a degree—they carry Baba’s blessings, the values of Rayalaseema, the trust of their teachers, and the hopes of the nation. He urged them to live by Baba’s teachings: “Love All. Serve All.” and “Help Ever. Hurt Never.” He encouraged them to contribute to nation-building and also take active roles in public life and politics to bring positive change.
Earlier, Vice President Radhakrishnan arrived at Prasanthi Nilayam and visited the Mahasamadhi of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba at Sai Kulwant Hall, receiving a warm red-carpet welcome. He later presented gold medals to the university’s top performers from various courses.
The event saw the participation of University Chancellor K. Chakravarthi, Vice Chancellor B. Raghavendra Prasad, members of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, public representatives, and many distinguished guests, making the convocation a memorable celebration of education, values, and spiritual inspiration.
