Ten-year-old chess prodigy Nara Devaansh, son of Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh and Nara Brahmani, has won the World Book of Records Award 2025 at Westminster Hall, London.
Devaansh received the award for setting a world record as the “Fastest Checkmate Solver – 175 Puzzles.” He completed 175 tough chess puzzles from the famous book 5334 Problems, Combinations, and Games by László Polgár in a very short time.
This global honour has placed him among the youngest and most talented chess players in the world. The achievement was possible with the guidance of his coach K. Rajashekar Reddy and the strong support of his parents.
Speaking at the ceremony, Nara Lokesh said, “It is a proud and special moment. Devaansh has worked very hard with dedication, and this award is a true recognition of his effort.”
Earlier, Devaansh had already created two more world records — solving the 7-disc Tower of Hanoi in 1 minute 43 seconds and arranging 9 chess boards with all 32 pieces in just 5 minutes.
His latest honour in London is not only a proud moment for his family but also a big milestone for India’s rising chess talent on the global stage.
