A special sessions court, which is hearing cases against MLAs and MPs, has summoned Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and two others in a 2014 poll code violation case.

The court served notice to Jagan on Wednesday and directed him, along with two others, to appear in court on March 28.

As per the directions of the Supreme Court, the special court summoned the CM for the first time.

Going by the reports, the then united Nalgonda district police had booked Jagan and his then party men G Nagi Reddy and G Srikanth for organising a roadshow without permission of the EC during the 2014 general elections.

Now, after over seven years, the Suryapet police have transferred the case to the MLA and MP court. The trio has been booked under Section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and 143 (punishment for unlawful assembly) of the IPC.
