Telugu Desam Party chief and National President, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, wrote a letter to the AP Director General of Police Gautam Sawang on Tuesday, urging him to take stringent action the culprits who are behind the Kuppam riots which took place in the Kuppam Assembly segment in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district.
In the letter, Naidu mentioned that the Police department is failing to stop the YSRCP and its men from attacking others, without any reason. He said that it is important for the Police department to take the necessary action so that people’s faith in democracy is restored. Naidu also mentioned in his letter that the men who were attacked, Lokesh and Saravan were attacked in broad daylight by the YSRCP goons in Kuppam town, and furthermore, Lokesh was even prevented from going to the hospital to get treatment.
On the other hand, the TDP staged protests across the state, and demanded to reduce the prices of essential commodities, petrol, diesel and gas ahead of the Sankranti festival celebrations. The TDP members said that while the YSRCP members are enjoying the festivities with tainted money, while the others are suffering from the high prices of essential commodities.
