Legendary composer Ilayaraja has sent legal notices to the producers of the Tamil movie Good Bad Ugly. The notices claim that three of his famous songs—En Jodi Manja Kuruvi, Ilamai Idho Idho, and Otha Roobaiyum Tharen—were used in the film without his permission. The film, directed by Adhik Ravichandran and starring Ajith Kumar, was released recently and is doing well in Tamil Nadu.
Ilayaraja is asking the producers, Mythri Movie Makers, for ₹5 crores as compensation. He also wants the songs removed from the movie and an official apology. So far, the production team has not responded to the notice.
This isn’t the first time Ilayaraja has taken legal steps to protect his rights. He’s known for standing firm against unauthorized use of his work. Good Bad Ugly, featuring Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Das, Sunil, Prasanna, and Priya Varrier alongside Ajith, remains in the spotlight despite the controversy.
The case highlights the importance of respecting artists’ work and following copyright laws. Fans and industry members are keenly waiting for how the issue will be resolved.
