The music is composed by Mickey J Meyer and the film is produced by T G Vishwa Prasad under People Media Factory banner.
Story:
Bachchan (Ravi Teja) is a sincere income tax officer who courageously conducts high-profile raids on powerful and corrupt people. But one day he gets suspended from his post and he goes back to his village where he falls in love with a Marwadi girl named Jikki (Bhagyashri Borse). Both families agree to their marriage and at the same time Bachchan gets called back to work and is asked to conduct an income tax raid on a wealthy politician, Mutyam Jaggaiah. How will Bachchan fulfill his duty? Will he get back to the wedding? Needs to be seen in the film.
What about on-screen performances?
Ravi Teja delivers an impactful performance in the lead role as Bachchan. His energy is the biggest plus of the film and his fans will love the way he has been presented in this film, especially in the action scenes. His comedy timing is on point and a special mention to his dances in the film.
Bhagyashri Borse looks gorgeous and does a neat job with her performance in the film. She looks like a million bucks in all the songs and attracts everyone with her lively screen presence and terrific dances.
Jagapathi Babu is not up to the mark in a routine villain character. In fact, his negative roles are becoming very monotonous these days.
Satya does well with his unique comedy timing and is a relief in the first half.
Sachin Khedekar, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Chammak Chandra, Praveen, Sudharshan, Jhansi, Prabhas Seenu, Satya Rajesh, BVS.Ravi, Tanikella Bharani, Gauthami, Kalyani Natarajan, Babu Mohan, Annapurnamma, Rohini, Aadukalam Naren, Naga Mahesh & all others are okay in their limited supporting roles.
What about off-screen talents?
The original story in Hindi by Ritesh Shah is a straight-forward story of a no-nonsense, honest-to-the-core Income Tax officer but here the adapted story by Harish Shankar deviates on a side track and turns more into a commercial zone with too many unwanted elements that over-shadow the core point of the film.
The screenplay and changes by Harish Shankar & his team work in parts, especially in the first half, and utterly fail in a few others, mainly in the later half. The whole old song’s idea never works as expected in the film.
The film starts off well with a kickass entry of Ravi Teja and the first 20 minutes set the tone of the film right. But once the love track starts, things start to bog down coz of the outdated approach. The first half is watchable only coz of Ravi Teja’s energy, Satya’s comedy, and Bhagyashri’s glamour dose in the songs. The interval scene is one of the best parts of the film and is dealt with neatly.
But the second half is where the plot goes haywire with silly comedy scenes and a boring villain track. The comedy track of Chammak Chandra & Prabhas Seenu looks forced into the plot and the other comedy tracks of Annapurnamma & Rohini aren’t even necessary in the film and they affect the flow big time. Things get highly predictable and with the poor placement of songs in this half, things get worse with a routine climax.
Director S. Harish Shankar mounts the film well and his presentation is top-class. But Harish who is generally known to perfectly adapt a remake and make it in his own style, falls flat with this film. The changes he made to this remake do not largely work in favour of the film. Also, the overdose of commercial elements is one of the biggest minus in his approach.
The dialogues by Praveen Varma & Harish Shankar are well written while a few punch lines of the hero are overly written too.
The cinematography by Ayananka Bose is top-notch. He gives the required scale to the film with his brilliant camera work and framing.
The songs by Mickey J Meyer are decent. ‘Reppal Dappul’ is the best song of the album while ‘Jikki’ song is good to hear too. His background score is excellent and elevates the film whenever required.
The edit by Ujwal Kulkarni is good in parts. All the action episodes are well edited but almost about 15-20 minutes of the film could’ve been easily chopped off.
Special mention to the dance choreographers- Sekhar, Brinda & Bhanu for the extraordinary dance moves in all the songs.
The production values by People Media Factory are grand.

Verdict: Overall, Mr.Bachchan is a lackluster and over-the-top remake of the Hindi film ‘Raid’ that overshadows the core theme of the film.
