The High Court of Andhra Pradesh has permitted the counting of votes that were polled in the MPTC and ZPTC elections that were held on 8th April this year.
The High Court had previously cancelled the Parishad elections back in May this year, saying the elections weren’t held in accordance with proper protocol. The state government and the SEC then filed an appeal, saying the elections were carried out in the right manner.
After the appeal from the state government and SEC, the court called for hearings in regard to the same again. Related proceedings were carried out till the 5th of August and the verdict was reserved by the court.
Today, the High Court of Andhra Pradesh passed the final judgement and permitted the counting of votes that were polled in this year’s MPTC and ZPTC elections.
The counting for 515 ZPTC and 7220 MPTCs will be held in the near future.
