It is known that heroin worth Rs 9,000 crore was seized by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in Mundra Port in Gujarat’s Kutch recently. The contraband, which was reportedly imported from Afghanistan, was set to deliver for Ashi Trading Firm that is based in Andhra Pradesh’s Vijayawada.
Ever since the heroin was seized by the officials, the issue is causing a stir in Andhra Pradesh politics. Both ruling and opposition parties in the state are accusing each other, saying that the leaders are involved in the drug mafia.
Srikakulam MP Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu has now made sensational comments in this regard. He fired verbal bullets at YSRCP public representatives as well as the police.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, MP Ram Mohan Naidu said that the TDP will not make false allegations on any issue and that the DGP should remember that the TDP speaks with all the evidence. Alleging that the drug mafia is running in the AP, he questioned who the police department is working for in the state.
Mr Naidu questioned how the Opposition would have faith in the police system if the DGP, SPs and commissioners are backing the government. He said there are allegations that YSRCP leaders are behind Ashi Trading Firm. The MP demanded to inquire about YSRCP MLA’s involvement in the drug case.
