It seems like the Indian Prime Minster Narendra Modi is really determinant on the 2024 elections and is looking to sweep the opposition off its feet with a master tactic. Reports say that he is planning to bring liquor under the Central Government and promulgate prohibition across the country.
Well, the word ‘complete liquor ban’ is not new to this country, and it already in force in states like Bihar and Gujarat. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is also looking to ban the liquor sale completely in Andhra Pradesh. Well, there are many doubts about the economic problems that a state will face after the complete liquor ban.
If we see, both Bihar and Gujarat have managed to continue their developmental and welfare schemes despite not getting any revenue from liquor on account of prohibition. Now, Modi will get support from the AP CM Jagan Mohan reddy who is really passionate about the liquor ban. By 2024, this will become the chief electoral issue that gives Modi tremendous support from the women.
After all, liquor and VAT on petrol are the two major income sources for the state governments. Each and every state in the country will lose a chunk of their revenue due to this prohibition and for that reason, it is being said that a team is working the nitty-gritty of prohibition across the country and they already suggested the Modi government to compensate the state governments for the losses caused by complete prohibition.
