Chandrababu Naidu recently attended the National Committee meeting for Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, which was held in Delhi, presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This was an interesting event for everyone, as it was the first time that Chandrababu and Modi would be in the same room after Chandrababu shifted his alliance to the Congress party ahead of the 2019 elections and called PM Modi several names.
For a while now, Naidu has been trying to get back into the good books of Modi and the BJP, but that didn’t seem to be happening, as the BJP has continued to keep Naidu and TDP at a distance as they continue to be allied with the YSRCP. This is why it was even more interesting to see that PM Modi and Naidu spoke together for 5 min, with the Prime Minister even reportedly asking Naidu to visit Delhi every now and then.
Sources have said that the PM even said that he would meet with Naidu personally the next time Naidu went to Delhi and even asked Naidu to consider Delhi as home and to inform his office of his arrival so that the necessary arrangements would be done. Considering these developments, it is to be seen if an alliance between the TDP and the BJP is possible for the second time around.
