Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics, Nara Lokesh, met with Mr. Simon Tan, Chairman of EverVolt Green Energy Pvt. Ltd., in Singapore.
During the meeting, Minister Lokesh invited EverVolt to set up a large-scale solar cell, module, and battery manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh. He also urged the company to establish a Research and Development (R&D) center in the state to develop advanced solar energy storage technologies.
Lokesh highlighted that the state aims to achieve 160 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity by 2029. He said that Andhra Pradesh has already announced its Integrated Green Energy Policy – 2024 to promote clean energy. Big companies like ReNew and Suzlon have already started operations in the state.
The Minister also requested EverVolt’s support in offering renewable energy skill development training in government ITIs (Industrial Training Institutes) across Andhra Pradesh.
In response, Mr. Simon Tan agreed to provide special training on renewable energy in a selected ITI in Andhra Pradesh. He mentioned that EverVolt, headquartered in Bengaluru, specializes in solar cells, modules, rooftop solutions, and energy storage products.
He added that EverVolt has already reached a 1-gigawatt production capacity by March this year and is targeting 3 gigawatts by 2026. Mr. Tan assured that his team would explore the possibility of setting up a unit in Andhra Pradesh after further discussions.
