What a tournament this season of IPL is turning out to be. Its been just a week since the tournament has started and we have seen a second super over match already. This epic clash happened between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. After batting first, RCB posted a total of 201 on the scoreboard. Aaron Finch (53), Devdutt Paddikal (54) and AB de Villiers (55) shined for the side. Mumbai managed to score the same total in 20 overs, all thanks to the stunning show put by Ishan Kishan (99) and Kieron Pollard (60). In the super over, MI managed to score 7 runs. RCB scored 11 runs and sealed the win.

After winning the toss, Mumbai Indians elected to bowl. Royal Challengers Bangalore banked on the opportunity and got a cracking start from its openers Aaron Finch and Devdutt Paddikal. Finch, who looked pale in the first two games, came back strong in this match. He kept hitting boundaries in the power play. Both of them made 81 runs for the first wicket partnership. It was Boult who then dismissed Finch. Virat Kohli came in when the innings is set but he failed in this match as well. He went back to the pavilion by scoring 3 runs in 11 balls. AB de Villiers and Devdutt Paddikal stayed on the crease and kept the momentum going. They made 62 runs partnership for the third wicket. It was again Boult who removed Paddikal. After his dismissal, de Villiers went berserk and started hitting balls out of the park. He got a good partner in the form of Shivam Dube. Both of them helped their team to reach a total of 201/3 in 20 overs.

While chasing this massive total, Mumbai faced two major blows in the power play. Rohit Sharma and Surya Kumar Yadav got out in second and third overs respectively. Just after a few minutes, Quinton de Kock got out in the bowling of Chahal. Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan then tried to settle the game by playing sensibly. But they failed to take the partnership longer as Adam Zampa dismissed Pandya in the 12th over. Later, Pollard settled the innings with Kishan. They needed 90 runs in last five overs. That was when both of them started sending balls out of the park. RCB was quite economical in the last two overs, which eventually resulted in a tie. If Pollard managed to score a six off that last ball, MI would have won the match.

Scorecard:

Royal Challengers Bangalore: 201/3 (de Villiers 55, D Padikkal 54, T Boult 2/34)

Mumbai Indians: 201/5 (I Kishan 99, K Pollard 60, I Udana 2/45)
