The NRI hospital in Guntur district’s Mangalagiri is reportedly the target of renowned businessman Megha Krishna Reddy. This has been said by several directors of the NRI hospital, directly in front of the media, in retaliation to the others who are willing to sell the hospital. They also said that the Megha Krishna Reddy group came to the NRI group, saying that they’re interested in buying the hospitals and that they warned several people, and got many of the board members in their control, to vote in favour of the selling of the NRI group.
It is said that a director by the name of Buchayya lodged a complaint against four members with the police after differences cropped up between the board members, following which these fours members were arrested overnight, by the police department. It is now being said that this was done to make sure that the board meeting did not take place, where the decision to not sell the hospital was to be taken. A house motion petition on the same issue is also said to have been filed in the High Court, on the same issue. Lingamaneni Group has also come to the forefront in this issue now.
It was previously said that several members of the Lingamaneni group forayed into the NRI hospital board. While a majority of the board members at NRI hospitals are not in the favour of the sale of the hospital, an equal majority is in its favour. With the Andhra Pradesh government wanting the sale of the NRI hospital to Megha Krishna Reddy, it is being said that it is inevitable for the NRI hospital to be sold.
