Apart from the fact that Megastar Chiranjeevi is coming up with a film titled Godfather, which is a remake of the Malayalam film Lucifer, it is to be noted that he is the undisputed Godfather of Tollywood currently, with many facts backing his statement.
Not only is he the person that is looked up to by every other actor in the industry right now, but also the person everyone considers to be representing the entire Telugu film industry on the whole.
This was something that was confirmed by the YSRCP government, after Chiru’s meet with AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, where sources confirmed that the CM considers Chiru to be the face of the industry.
More recently, Chiru is the only actor from Tollywood who was invited to the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Alluri Sitaramaraju. While Pawan Kalyan was invited as well, his invitation could be considered more politically inclined, making Chiru the only actor to be invited.
Even top actors like Mahesh and Prabhas have said several times that there’s only one Chiranjeevi and that anyone and everyone in the industry is after him, that’s the kind of respect Chiranjeevi commands from everyone in the industry
It is also to be noted that Chiranjeevi is not a brand that can be shaken to the ground with a failure or two, as how a few people are assuming, especially following the failure of Acharya.
Chiru faced several flops and disappointments previously in his career as well, but none of them managed to sway the brand he built. Chiru has been a part of the industry for decades together and has seen several ups and downs, more than the age of several actors currently working in the industry.
Another important factor to be mentioned is how the actor took care of everyone in need during the coronavirus pandemic when daily wage laborers had no source of income and were looked after solely by Chiru himself.
While Chiru said that he doesn’t want to be known as the Godfather or the face of Tollywood, several times, inarguably, he is the person everyone looks up to, whenever anyone needs any sort of help or support.
