Appointing the new president of Telangana Congress has been a lengthy and tiring process for the high command. CM Revanth Reddy’s tenure as the TPCC president came to an end on 7 July and the party has been scratching their heads on whom to appoint as the new president and Revanth himself had to tour Delhi multiple times to discuss the same.
Finally, the Congress high command has locked in on the TPCC president as Mahesh Kumar Goud, who happens to be a close associate of Revanth Reddy has been announced as the new president. He will be taking control of the Telangana Congress activities immediately.
Goud belongs to the BC community and he earlier served as an MLC and he shares a close rapport with Revanth. He faced stiff competition from Madhu Yashki Goud, Lakshman Kumar, and Mahabubabad MP Balaram Nayak for the TPCC president post. But with unconditional support from Revanth Reddy, the odds were in favor of Mahesh Goud.
On this topic, CM Revanth tweeted, My heartiest congratulations to Shri B. Mahesh Kumar Goud who has been elected as the new President of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee. Heartfelt thanks to the leadership of the party who entrusted me with the responsibility of PCC president three years ago…to the leaders who supported me…to the workers who fought heroically…to the workers who brought the party to power.
