Vijay Deverakonda who is still making his mark in Tollywood has turned producer for the film Meeku Maatrame Chepta, a fun-filled comedy entertainer in the likes of Pelli Choopulu in which Vijay himself has acted.
He introduced Shammer Sultan as a director with this flick and made his Pelli Choopulu director Tarun Bhascker to act in lead role.
Abhinav Gomatam, who became famous with his hilarious role in Ee Naagaraniki Emaindi has played side kick to the hero.
The film got released on November 1st to mixed response. Though youth enjoyed the fun element in the movie, others have sidelined it completely.
Moreover, the film looked dull and the production values are blamed for this.
However, Vijay Deverakonda’s father came before media and said that dull visuals are due to DI glitch. We have not compromised on budget. We made this at a whopping budget of Rs. 5 crores.
However, the film has ended its final run and it could only manage Rs. 1.77 Cr worldwide which means not even half of the amount not recovered if we were to believe what Vijay Deverakonda’s father said.
