Featuring Rao Ramesh and Sundeep Kishan in the lead roles, Mazaka released today. The film is directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina and has Ritu Varma in the female lead role. Let’s see what it has in store for the audience.
Story:
Rama (Rao Ramesh) and his son Krishna (Sundeep Kishan) live together. Finding a bride for Krishna becomes difficult as no father wants to send his daughter into a house with just two men. Taking advice from a marriage broker, Rama decides to get married first to make it easier for his son. Meanwhile, Krishna falls in love with a girl. Just when things seem smooth, a powerful businessman, Varma (Murali Sharma), creates trouble in their lives. The rest of the story is about how they overcome these challenges.
What about on screen talents?
Rao Ramesh steals the show and sometimes even overshadows Sundeep Kishan. However, Sundeep delivers a solid performance on his own, making it feel like a two-hero film. They both gel well to deliver a comprehensive product that has the right meters.
Ritu Varma is good, while Anshu, returning to films after a long gap, is a pleasant surprise. Murali Sharma, Srinivas Reddy, Raghu Babu, and others add value with their performances.
Technical Aspects:
The cinematography is impressive, and the songs are fresh and well-placed in the narrative. The editing is sharp, and the dialogues are engaging. The production values are strong, ensuring a polished look for the film.
Trinadha Rao comes up with an engaging and entertaining comedy caper that has some pretty clean comedy. Though these are lapses in narration here and there, he largely delivers a decent product that works at large.
The track involving Rao Ramesh and Sundeep are of good entertainment value. But the scenes of Anshu and Ritu are just of mediocre stuff. This could’ve been exhibited well.
Positives:
• Rao Ramesh and Sundeep Kishan’s performances
• Engaging dialogues
• Entertaining first half
Negatives:
• Forced scenes between Anshu and Ritu Varma
• Rao Ramesh and Anshu’s romantic track feels awkward
Final Verdict:
Mazaka is an enjoyable comedy with emotional moments. The father-son chemistry, humor, and well-written scenes make it a fun watch. However, the Anshu and Ritu Varma track looks a bit too stretched and repetitive. But at large, it can be enjoyed once in theatres.
