Needless to say, how hard the film industry was hit with the Covid-19 pandemic. The virus outbreak forced us all to stay indoors for months, and theatres and cinema halls have suffered massive losses during the lockdown period. However, after seven months of the shutdown, the big screens got slowly reopened and things are getting back to their normal.
But now, the raising Covid-19 cases in the Telugu states are worrying the filmmakers. We know the Tollywood filmmakers have lined up a bunch of big releases for the next month.
Megastar Chiranjeevi’s much-awaited Acharya is the big-budget film that will hit the screens in May. With the increasing pandemic cases, the government may impose 50% occupancy in theatres, which will be a big blow for a big-budget film like Acharya. The film may even postpone avoiding the restrictions which could affect their stake.
Movies like Naarappa, Ravi Teja’s Khiladi, BB3, Paagal and many other films have already announced for the May release. Going by the current situations, the filmmakers are doubtful and also considering other options to bypass loss to their income.
