What about on-screen performances?
Satya is the star of the film. He shines with an outstanding performance, showcasing flawless comedic timing that elevates every scene. His chemistry with Sri Simha Koduri is a highlight, keeping the audience thoroughly entertained. Satya’s playful mimicry of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s iconic gestures and dance moves adds an extra layer of charm, making it a treat for fans and further solidifying his talent as a versatile actor.
Simha deserves credit for allowing Satya the spotlight, a decision that ultimately benefits the film, and it shows. Simha himself delivers a solid performance, displaying a natural presence on screen. While he’s good in his role, his confidence and finesse will only grow with more films and experience, making him a promising talent to watch.
Faria Abdullah offers a notable performance, adding depth and strength to her role.
Vennela Kishore performs as consistently impressive as ever, showcasing his trademark skill and charm. However, his storyline slightly interrupts the overall flow of the film.
Sunil, Rohini Molleti & Raja Chembolu’s roles needed more relevance as they appeared to be wasted in limited impactless parts.
Ajay, Jhansi, Gundu Sudarshan, Srinivasa Reddy, Rohini, Satya Krishnan & others are good in their limited roles.
What about off-screen talents?
The story by Ritesh Rana is good as it carries the characters forward pretty neatly. But this time, the sequel is more of a whodunnit crime thriller along with comedy.
The screenplay is entertaining in the first half with interesting elements like the HE Team & Operation Thaskara but it gets predictable and looks a bit dragged out with unwanted scenes in the latter half. Sunil’s track is one such example as it doesn’t provide any comic relief or add value to the plot. Also, the whole movie event sequence of Vennela Kishore falls flat with the comedy.
Director Ritesh Rana does a brilliant job with his craft. His presentation is trendy and the way he has included all the pop culture references along with the funny dialogues deserves credit. But had he had a more compelling narrative, especially in the second half along with Satya’s comedy, this would have been a blockbuster.
The dialogues are witty and are very well written.
The background score by Kaala Bhairava is one of the biggest strengths of the film. His ‘Who’ theme/sound is a trendsetter already and his score contributes well to the proceedings. His songs are good too and the Promotional song written and sung by Faria Abdullah is good to hear.
The cinematography by Suresh Sarangam is top-notch. He effectively captures all the scenes and gives the film the much-required scale.
The edit by Karthika Srinivas is fine but could’ve been better in the latter half.
The production values by Ravi Kiran Arts & Maruthi Team are good.
What’s Hot?
* Satya’s Performance & Comedy
* Sri Simha’s Performance
* Hilarious Pop Culture References
* Funny One Liners
* Good Background Score
* Cinematography & Production Values
What’s Not?
* Predictable Plot
* Ori Na Kodaka Track Needed Development
* Sunil & Rohini’s Roles Are Under Utilised
* Parts Of Second Half
Verdict: Overall, Mathu Vadalara 2 is a fair and entertaining sequel that relies heavily on Satya’s comedy timing and the funny pop culture references & one-liners. Though it doesn’t feel as fresh as its predecessor as it delves more into the thriller zone in the second half, it still manages to provide some enjoyable laughs.
