Recently, a fire broke out on the campus of the Serum Institute of India, Pune. Five people were killed in the incident.
A huge fire broke out on the fourth and fifth floors of the SEZ-3 building which is under construction in the Manjari area of Pune. The fire caused heavy smoke in the building.
Upon receiving information about the accident, the fire brigade team rushed to the spot and began rescue operations.
The fire was brought under control with 10 fire tenders. It took two hours for the team to bring the fire under control.
The Maharashtra government said five dead bodies were found at the spot after the fire was brought under control. SII factory manager said the floor where the fire broke out was a rota-virus lab and there was no stock of Covishield on those floors.
The fires broke out once again on the same floor after the situation was brought completely under control.
The cause of the fire is yet to be known. Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajith Pawar said an inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
