YSR Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy led his party to a massive defeat in the recent elections as they secured just 11 seats in the assembly. However, Jagan still appears to be in denial of this result as he has now started to blame the EVMs again.
As we celebrate the 75th Constitution Day, let us reflect on its significance and reaffirm our unwavering commitment to its guiding principles.
The cornerstone of Democracy is electing the public representatives. Widespread concern across the nation about the functioning of EVMs prompts us to question the veracity of EVMs and to ask ourselves why we should not go to the polls with ballot papers as is the practice in a majority of countries across the world. Democracy should not only be prevalent but also be seen to be thriving.
The other significant concern in recent times has been an aggressive attempt to quell freedom of speech, the most important fundamental right guaranteed to the citizens of our country, Jagan tweeted.
The fact that Jagan is still fighting for paper ballots and asking for removal of EVMs has become a topic of discussion. TDP and JSP leaders are retorting that Jagan appears to have forgotten that he won with the very same EVMs in 2019.
