Manmadhudu 2 which has been released amidst of mixed expectations among the movie lovers, was unable to impress the audience and registered as a below average film. As Rahul Ravindran directed the film, the director who is supposed to feel bad for the debacle, is actually happy today.
Rahul’s debut directorial “Chi La Sow” movie has bagged the national award and the news has been announced exactly on the release day of his second directorial Manmadhudu 2. Within few hours after the film was announced as a failure, Rahul received the good news which is what made him forget the loss he faced through Nag’s film.
The 66th National Film Awards are announced today. “Chi La Sow” was able to win the award under the category, “Best Original Screenplay”. Mahanati has been picked as the best film and Keerthi Suresh as the best actress. Awe! movie bagged award for Best Makeup (Ranjith) and special effects. Rangasthalam has been picked for its sound mixing (audiography).
Unfortunately, Tollywood films could not find its place in the important categories like “Best Hero” and “Best Director”. Ayushmann Khurrana for Andhadhun and Vicky Kaushal for Uri were selected in ‘Best Actor’ category and Aditya Dhar picked up “Best Director” award for Uri.
