Tuck Jagadish is all set to go the OTT wave as the film is gearing up for its digital premieres on Amazon Prime Video. The makers of the Nani starrer haven’t been extensively publicizing the arrival of the film on OTT in order to avoid repercussions from exhibitors and theaters managements.
Earlier today, Shine Screens, who are bankrolling Tuck Jagadish opened up about the film’s OTT release.
“The film was completed in December last year. We planned to release it for summer but the second wave of Covid made things difficult. Even after the second wave, things continued to be uncertain due to various issues not being under control. Moreover, it is not easy to safeguard content for so long in this digital era,” the statement from Shine Screens read.
“With a lot of ambiguity about when things will return to normal, we approached Nani garu and convinced him for a non-theatrical release since there was no other option left before us. He was disappointed and reluctant a lot initially as he was particular about theatrical release. But he later understood the situation and was gracious enough to accept considering the problems of the producers,” they added.
Tuck Jagadish is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 10th September as Vinayaka Chavithi special.
