A fresh development has emerged in the reported divorce case involving Tamil actor and Vijay and his wife Sangeetha Sornalingam. During a hearing held today at the Chengalpattu Principal Sessions Court, the matter was adjourned to June 15, with the court directing both Vijay and Sangeetha to appear in person.
According to reports, Vijay’s legal team requested permission for him to attend through video conference, citing his busy schedule related to the Tamil Nadu Assembly election campaign. However, the court is said to have declined the request and asked him to be physically present on the next hearing date.
Meanwhile, settlement discussions linked to the case have sparked intense buzz in the media. Reports claim Sangeetha sought a settlement of ₹250 crore based on Vijay’s declared assets, along with financial support for their son and daughter.
At the same time, some Kollywood reports suggest Vijay has agreed to offer ₹35 crore as settlement to Sangeetha and is willing to take responsibility for the children. However, there has been no official confirmation from either side regarding these claims.
With both parties expected in court on June 15, the next hearing is likely to draw major attention and could become a key turning point in the high-profile case.
