Krishna and His Leela, starring Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Seerat Kapoor was one of the first Telugu films to release directly on OTT platform. The young pair came together again for Maa Vintha Gaadha Vinuma which is available for streaming on Aha Video. Scroll on for Maa Vintha Gaadha Vinuma movie review.
Story:
Siddhu(Siddhu Jonnalagadda) gets caught while creating nuisance in front of a girls hostel. When asked about his motive, Siddhu starts narrating his love life to a cop, Bharani(Tanikella Bharani). In his college days, Siddhu manages to impress Vineetha Venugopal (Seerat), a strong-willed girl after trying to woo her for 2 and a half years. But an untoward incident takes place while Siddhu and Vineetha go to Goa for a family function and this changes their lives. What is the incident? How does it impact their lives? Watch the film to know the answers.
What about on-screen performances?
Siddhu plays a boy-next-door role in Maa Vintha Gaadha Vinuma and he is in his familiar territory. He performs well in romantic scenes but needs to fine-tune his acting as he fails to evoke the desired impact in emotional sequences. Seerat delivered one of the finest performances of her career. Her classy portrayal of a strong-natured girl, Vineetha is pleasing. Tanikella Bharani and Fish Venkat play brief roles but manage to leave an impression. Manchu Lakshmi’s cameo looks silly.
What about off-screen talents?
Siddhu provided the story, screenplay, dialogues, and also edited the film. It needs to be said that he had way too many things on his plate. The film does not excell in any department and the output is underwhelming. Coming to the story, it offers nothing new as it is a typical modern-day love drama. The first 40-45 minutes are filled with romantic scenes and related dialogues. But the film goes off track after the lead pair break-up and what follows is a clumsy and lethargic love drama. The director Aditya succeeds in getting a reasonably good output from his technical team but he struggles to narrate the story in a gripping manner.
Only one song from the audio album is worth listening again. Rohit-Joy’s background score goes with the vibe of the proceedings. Cinematography is of top quality, but these brilliant visual presentation is of very little effect as the story lacks drive.
What’s good?
First 40 minutes & Dialogues
Siddhu – Tanikella Bharani scenes
Sai Prakash’s cinematography
What’s not?
Tried and tested love story
Lethargic screenplay
Weak direction
Zero emotional connect
Humorless comedy
Verdict:
Maa Vintha Gaadha Vinuma was projected as a love drama with good dose of comedy and entertainment. But the film is neither engaging nor does it offer any comical relief. Despite having a crisp run-time of 101 minutes, Maa Vintha Gaadha Vinuma fails to keep the viewer engaged. The narrative is boring and lacks any novelty. The film is utterly boring to say the least.
