For a long time, now, there has been a lot of debate about the deputy chief ministerial position for Nara Lokesh in Andhra Pradesh politics. The topic came to discussion in front of Lokesh himself, and he categorically denied the same and said he is content with the position that he has with him for now.
However, this debate again came to discussion today while Lokesh took part in the India Today conclave, and he was asked by senior journalist about the deputy chief minister talk.
“I have historically been a man who takes the road with least commute. I contested the Mangalagiri seat that didn’t win since 1985 and won by 90K majority in 2024. Even in the ministry, I took the most competitive position – HRD Ministry. I am content with what I have and am ready to live up to the trust of my people rather than running after something I’m not intended to fulfil.” Lokesh said.
Lokesh further added that it isn’t even CM Chandrababu who decides who becomes deputy CM, but it is the public and voters, who have this mandate.
Lokesh was very mature about his reply to the complex question which has been in Media circulation for several months now.
