Recently, Telangana IT Minister KTR made a few comments on the situation in Andhra Pradesh, particularly the less than ideal roads in the state, following the visit of one of his close friends to the state. KTR said that AP is in a bad condition, including the roads, the electricity situation and everything else. This naturally didn’t sit well with the members of the YSRCP, who attacked KTR, saying that the situation in Hyderabad isn’t any better either, even saying that Hyderabad is what it is today due to the efforts put in by the people of Andhra Pradesh.
In an interesting turn of events, TDP National General Secretary, Nara Lokesh recently backed KTR’s statements, saying that the situation of AP is indeed very pitiful and sad. He made these statements during his recent visit to Kurnool. Lokesh is actively touring AP for the past few weeks and interacting with the people of those districts, and also with the member of the TDP, from those districts, trying to salvage his reputation and position in the TDP.
In the 2019 elections, Lokesh faced a very bad defeat, and many members of the TDP even claimed that they were not really comfortable with Lokesh, as they are not really acquainted with him. In order to rectify the same, Lokesh is currently touring AP and intends to tour the entire state before the 2024 elections. It is now to be seen how effective this will turn out to be for him.
