YSRCP rebel MP Raghu Ramakrishna Raju had submitted a privilege notice to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Director General of Police Gautam Sawang, CID Chief P V Sunil Kumar and other Police officials. This is in regards to his arrest by the AP CID last month. In this notice. RRR is said to have mentioned about his alleged custodial nature while with the AP CID.
The LS speaker has now taken action on this notice, and the LS Secretariat wrote to Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, asking him for a detailed report on this notice, which was issued on June 2nd. Furthermore, these reports were asked to be submitted in both Hindi and English.
RRR complained to the LS Speaker that he was arrested illegally, with a sedition case being filed against him, and that he was tortured while in custody. RRR’s son Bharat and Telugu Desam Party MPs K Rammohan Naidu and Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar also submitted similar complaints to the LS Speaker.
