The second wave of coronavirus forced the Telangana government to impose night curfews in the state, in the month of April. Towards the end of April, the number of cases started to increase, and in May, the government imposed a total lockdown, with relaxation being given only from 6 AM to 10 AM.
With the decrease in the number of cases, the government slowly started giving more relaxations for the last 20 days. With today, June 19th, the last part of the lockdown will come to an end, and from tomorrow, June 20th, lockdown is completely going to be lifted in the state.
The Telangana state cabinet decided that there’s no necessity for lockdown anymore as the cases have come down drastically. The positivity rate in the state has also come down to less than 2% and the number of cases being registered every day is less than 1500. WIth the lockdown being lifted completely, educational institutions are also expected to function fully from July 1st.
