Central Health & Family Welfare Ministry joint secretary Lav Agarwal is the one who is giving daily updates to the media and people on COVID-19 since its outbreak in India. He is the one who faces media and several people and answers every question quite patiently.
Mr. Agarwal served Andhra Pradesh in the past as the sub-collector and joint collector in various districts and also worked as the secretary in former Chief Minister YS Raja Sekhar Reddy’s office. Many leaders once demanded to award him ‘Padma Shri’ but now he is facing a lot of criticism from many media channels alleging that he is not answering any of the private media channels.
Many press persons are alleging that Agarwal is informing about the COVID-19 spread to only DD news and ANI. In this mini-uproar, Agarwal gave interesting news about COVID-19 transmission. He said that if no COVID-19 case is reported for 28 days from a specific area, we can say that the chain of transmission has been broken.
He gave this interesting fact as a response to a question on the rationale behind the government’s 40-day containment period and how will it help in flattening the curve.
