Kakatiya University (KU), The second biggest State-run public university in Telangana Warangal, is soon going to receive the International Standards Organisation (ISO) certification soon. There are seven colleges on the varsity premises and a total of 529 colleges are established under it’s affiliation.
Reportedly, academicians helmed by Sivaiah Alapati, Managing Director of HYM International Certification Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad, which is accredited to the Accreditation Service for Certifying Bodies (Europe) Ltd, of late visited the varsity campus to audit the infrastructure and other facilities.
The university was granted an `A’ grade in 2009 by the assessors of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The officials visited the premises and evaluated based on the parameters like vision, motto and mission of the colleges, departments, branches, offices and quality followed by the colleges. They inspected the libraries, laboratories and other infrastructure on the campus, and provided necessary advice to University authorities to improve the quality.
KU Registrar Prof K Purushotham said the varsity secured a good score (3.36). Also, the varsity secured a place among the top universities of the nation and is striving hard to meet the increased demand in education by introducing expansion of specialised courses, he added.
University authorities said, the ISO team spearheaded by Sivaiah Alapati would send a detail report to the London’s office and it is anticipated that the varsity would receive the certificate in about 20 days. If the KU gets ISO certification, it would be the second government university to avail it.
