It is known that the Telangana cops intend to appeal for an exemption to try juveniles as adults in the Hyderabad gang rape case. Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand has announced the department’s intention in the controversial case.

Now, Telangana Minister KTR responded to the latest development in the case. Taking to Twitter, he supported the police move to try juveniles as adults in the gang rape case.

“I welcome & support the stand of @TelanganaCOPs. If you are adult enough to commit a crime as heinous as rape, one must also be punished as an adult & not as a juvenile,” KTR wrote on the micro-blogging site.

However, it is the discretion of the Juvenile Justice Board to accept or reject the appeal of the cops. For the unversed, there are six accused involved in the case, of whom four are minors.
