In unexpected news to Indian cricket fans, the second T20I that was scheduled between hosts Sri Lanka and India has been postponed to July 28, just 24 hours before the series finale on Thursday.
The play on Tuesday (July 27) has been cancelled after India allrounder Krunal Pandya tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the game.
Following this development, both the Indian and Sri Lankan sides have been put in quarantine. The players who contacted Krunal Pandya closely will be monitored carefully.
The rest of the two games in the series will now be played back to back on Wednesday and Thursday, only after the RT-PCR tests of the players comes out negative. As of now, the Men in Blue had won the ODI series 2-1 and were leading 1-0 in the T20I series.
