Virat Kohli made a very good name for himself as a formidable cricketer and a wonderful captain for the Indian men’s cricket team. While he is no longer the captain of the team, having resigned from the post a few months ago, he is still very much active in the game. However, he has been suffering in recent times due to the lack of proper form. His recent games against England, in India’s tour of England, have been highly forgettable.
Kohli is now expected to take a break from cricket for some time and focus on preparing for Asia Cup from August 1st. He would be staying back in London with his family and would soon be joined by his mother and extended family there.
In India’s tour of England, Kohli managed to score only 11 and 20, respectively, in the rescheduled fifth test match and scored 1 and 11 in the two T20s. He scored just 16 runs in the second game at Lord’s, and India lost the match by a whopping 100 runs. He is now said to be hoping to do better in the decider match at Manchester, which, if India wins, would be its first victory against England since 2014 on English soil. On the other hand, Kohli hasn’t been included in India’s squad for the West Indies tour.
