We know that the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be more entertaining with the addition of two more teams — Ahmedabad and Lucknow.
The new teams of the tournament have officially announced their draft picks ahead of the upcoming mega auction for the 2022 season. The Lucknow franchise has named KL Rahul as captain of the team, while Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi are the two other draft picks of the team.
KL Rahul has been chosen for Rs. 17 crore while Stoinis and Bishnoi have been signed for Rs. 9.2 crore and Rs. 4 crore, respectively.
Notably, Rahul is now the joint-highest-paid player in the tournament across seasons, along with RCB’s Virat Kohli, who was also signed for Rs 17 crore by the franchise in 2018.
On the other side, the owners of Ahmedabad picked Hardik Pandya (Rs 15 crore) as the captain, while Rashid Khan (Rs 15 crore), and Shubman Gill (Rs 8 crore) are also signed by the team.
