It is unpredictable to know how long the pandemic situation will continue. Although the nation is in unlocking phase, the film makers are striving hard to go to the sets with limited crew. It was predicted by the movie experts that despite getting permits for theatre releases, the movie goers might not turn up easily due to the rising cases.
As part of this, many films in Telugu are currently being released live on OTT(Over the top) platforms. Already in Telugu, Amrutramam movie was released first as a full length feature film on digital streaming app and was well received by the audience. Also, the bilingual movie ‘Penguin’ starring glamorous actress Keerthi Suresh, has been released via Amazon prime in Tamil and Telugu.
Produced by Karthik Subbaraju under the direction of Ishwar Karthik, the film was released this month on 19th instead of theaters due to the lockdown issue. Many appreciated Keerthi’s performance, however labelled the psychological film as `underwhelming and `poor climax’.
Now Keerthi is following the same track once again, where the film is going to be out on digital streaming services. As per the latest reports, her upcoming flick, Miss India’s producer also apparently seem to be testing the waters for a digital release. The film was scheduled for release on April 17 as per the earlier schedule but was shelved. Miss India is directed by debutant director Narendranath and produced by Mahesh Koneru.
The film also features Jagapathi Babu, Naveen Chandra, Rajendra Prasad, Naresh, Poojitha Ponnada, Kamal Kamaraju etc in prominent roles.
