It is already known that Telangana Chief Minister KCR launched the Dalit Bandhu scheme in Vasalamarri village, the village that he adopted, in the first week of August. he released 7.6 Crores to release Rs. 10 Lakhs into the accounts of the 76 eligible Dalits in the village. Following that, KCR officially launched the scheme in Huzurabad on August 15th and released 2000 Crores to cover the 20,000 Dalit families in the constituency.
However, the money wasn’t deposited into the accounts of the villagers until recently, as there have been several delays. The government released the money way back, but the money was with the Collectors until recently, and following displeasure and pressure from the Dalits, the money was recently released, post which everyone celebrated.
The celebrations of the Dalits didn’t last long, as they soon realised that their accounts were frozen and that they can’t withdraw the money until and unless they show a financially viable scheme to the government. While many Dalits are said to have expressed that they wanted to buy tractors and cars, the Collectors are said to have refused their request, stating that it would lead to losses for all of them.
