It is known that Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has announced his support for opposition parties’ joint presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha in the upcoming polls slated to be held on July 18.
Ahead of the polls, Sinha is scheduled to visit Hyderabad and the TRS party leaders have arranged a grand welcome for the national leader. He will arrive at the Begumpet Airport on July 2 and a rally will be organised from the airport to Jal Vihar. Interestingly, CM KCR, TRS working president and Minister K. T. Rama Rao, and all the cabinet ministers are set to welcome Mr Sinha at the airport.
On the other side, the Bharatiya Janatha Party is gearing up for its national executive meeting in Hyderabad and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to land at the same airport, where the opposition presidential candidate arrives a few hours earlier. As per reports, only one Telangana Minister will receive PM Modi at the airport, while all other TRS ministers, including the CM, will accord a grand welcome to Yashwant Sinha.
It is worthy to mention that this is the third time in 6 months that CM KCR is ignoring the protocol of receiving a visiting Prime Minister.
